Born Seitaro Suzuki, on May 24, 1923, Seijun Suzuki is very much still alive and well at the ripe old age of eighty-eight today. Even though Suzuki has all but retired from the business of movie making, due to his deteriorating health, he did attend the 2008 Tokyo Project Gathering, looking for funding for a future film project titled
A Goldfish of the Flame. Hopefully he'll grace us with a new film in the coming year, but until then, I speak for all fans when I wish Suzuki-san the best of health and a happy birthday.
